Lydie Arakaza is an associate attorney in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale West Office. She practices in the area of workers’ compensation defense. Before law school, Lydie served as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem with the Florida Guardian ad Litem’s Broward office. She then graduated from Broward College with an Associate of Science in Paralegal Studies and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management. She worked as a paralegal in the field of workers’ compensation and intellectual property as she pursued her Bachelor’s degree and continued to do so as she pursued her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University College of Law. While at STU, Lydie served as the Articles Editor of the St. Thomas Law Review, Secretary for the Maritime Law Society, Treasurer of the Public Interest Law Society, competed in a National Trial Advocacy Competition, and was recognized for her academic standing as a member of the Dean’s List. Lydie also worked as a volunteer legal intern for the Florida Guardian ad Litem’s Broward office during her time at STU. Lydie was born in Cameroon and is excited to start visiting one African country a year now that she’s achieved her academic goals.
