Melissa K. Allen has been serving the Greater Lansing area since 1995 with measurable success. Ms. Allen has received Community Newspaper’s “People’s Choice Award for Favorite Attorney” for seven years. While pursuing her J. D. at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Ms. Allen received multiple Certificate of Merit Awards & Honor Scholarships. She also graduated *** Laude in the top 7% of her class. In addition while in law school, she was the Comments Editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. Ms. Allen also was an adjunct faculty member at Thomas M. Cooley Law School for three years. She is also a frequent guest speaker on Estate Planning for various organizations, churches, credit unions and businesses. She is currently a member of the State Bar of Michigan, including the Estate & Probate Section of the State Bar. She has an understandable manner and is very thorough with her explanations of the issues at hand. She is very considerate, warm and easy to talk to about these personal situations. When it comes to difficult estate planning topics such as second marriages, minor children and beneficiaries with disabilities, Ms. Allen’s experience with these issues makes what could be a confusing process very easy.
